professional negligence and disciplinary matters

This is a specialist field in which we act for Private Individuals only and not the Body to which they belong.  In recent years we have acted for Solicitors.  Mr Strachan has acted for Individual Practitioners before the Tribunal in both Misconduct and Dishonesty Issues.  He previously, between 1982 and 1996, acted as the Law Society Agent in Intervention Proceedings under the Solicitors Act.  We have represented Accountants in inquiries by ACCA and ICAEW on issues of Professional Misconduct and Surveyors and Valuers during investigations by RICS.

first interview

This is a highly confidential process.  We offer the first interview of up to 2 hours free of charge whereafter, once the score of the matter is discerned we can give a more accurate evaluation of potential fees.

expertise

Additionally, we have long experience in representing Owners, Trainers and Officials before the Disciplinary Committees of Greyhound Racing in both the UK and Eire.  We have investigated claims of Rule Infringement, Doping and Fraud, prepared documentation, interviewed witnesses and conducted contested inquiries – one of which, in Limerick, lasted three days.

For anyone seeking to bring an action for Professional Negligence against a Solicitor, we can give an Assessment of Potential, usually at first interview (free for the first hour) based on Mr Strachan’s knowledge of Professional Conduct and Requirements from his work as an Intervening Agent on behalf of the Law Society.

fees

A separate assessment of fees will be given dependent upon the nature of the claim and the level of damage sustained.  Fees will be calculated at the level shown in our hourly charges.  Conditional Fee arrangements are not available for any of these matters.
